A new website, http://www.freshandeasyreview.com/, devoted to reviewing various fresh & easy store brand food and grocery products has appeared on the web.
The first postings on the Blog-style website were on August 29, 2008. Those posts include a review of fresh & easy brand Belgian Dark Chocolate Nibs (confection) and a review and explanation about fresh & easy brand fresh milk.
The very first August 29, 2008 post on Fresh & Easy Review is titled: 'Welcome to Fresh & Easy Review!' In it the publisher provides the following description of the website/Blog:
"This website is a personal project of my own. Its purpose is to share how i feel about the products at ‘Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market’ and to gather any insights into what other fellow consumers might have experience with the product’s!
I will not only be sharing my feelings on the products but also some insight I have acquired through out my many consecutive visits to the Market. The employee’s often seem eager to share what they know about their products.
This will serve a tool to explain many misconceptions I have had first hand, and maybe provide insights to others and I hope other will be willing to share their experiences with me!
Thank You and I look forward to a future filled with insight as this Neighborhood Market grows and expands to meet our (the consumer) needs through private label products."
In addition to writing up reviews of the fresh & easy store brand products, the website includes a 5-point rating scale -- 5 being the highest score, 1 being the lowest -- so users can rate fresh & easy store brand products.
There are five little gold stars below the item being reviewed. You click whatever number of the stars you want to rate the product as -- 1 star being the worse, 5 stars being the best. However, a user can click as many (or as few) stars -- and cast as many votes -- as they want at any given time. For example, you can click 5 stars 5 times on every item when you visit, resulting in giving all of the products having the optimum score. Conversely, click 1 star 5 times and you can give the respective product the lowest rating of 1 star.
Thus far there are 10 fresh & easy store brand food and grocery products reviewed on the website. The first review being on August 29. The latest review appears today, September 21.
The 10 fresh & easy store brand products reviewed thus far are:
>fresh & easy belgian chocolate nibs (confection).
>fresh & easy fresh (cow) milk.
>fresh & easy ginger & peach black tea
>fresh & easy belgian dark chocolate bar 50%.
>fresh & easy pure drinking water.
>fresh & easy 4-fudge brownies.
>fresh & easy creamy peanut butter.
>fresh & easy 100% arabica instant coffee.
>fresh & easy chocolate chip cookies.
>fresh & easy bolillo's Mexican-style bread.
Nine of the ten fresh & easy store brand product reviews thus far on the website are very positive. One, the fresh & easy brand bolillo's Mexican bread review, is less positive.
The last paragraph of the website's August 29, 2008 introductory post threw us off a bit when reading it. It's the fourth and last paragraph below in bold:
Fresh & Easy Review, August 29 introductory post:
"This website is a personal project of my own. Its purpose is to share how i feel about the products at ‘Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market’ and to gather any insights into what other fellow consumers might have experience with the product’s!
I will not only be sharing my feelings on the products but also some insight I have acquired through out my many consecutive visits to the Market. The employee’s often seem eager to share what they know about their products.

When we first read this sentence in the introductory statement, we thought the review website was a product of Tesco's Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market. However, we then noticed ("the consumer") next to "our," which suggests that's not the case -- that it is an independent review website.
The sentence just sounds a bit corporate, along with the way it is worded. Therefore we've inquired to the website's publisher as to whether its a product of Tesco's Fresh & Easy or an independent review site. We know we will receive comments and emails from Fresh & Easy Buzz readers suggesting and asking just that. As such, we hope to hear back from the website publisher with an answer.

So glad someone else is out there doing the same thing I do! Thanks for letting us in on it, Buzz. :)
doubt that you're going to hear much response from these guys. it looks like they don't want anyone to know who they are. good luck.
Thanks for your comments readers. We do aim to serve, after all.
Below is the question we asked Fresh and Easy Review yesterday in the comments section on the blog, under its latest post of September 21, 2008:
Hello:
Read through your site; lots of information on fresh & easy store brand products.
Read all the reviews but couldn’t find one negative one regarding a fresh & easy product.
Is the site owned by Tesco Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market or do you just love each of the fresh & easy brand products you’ve sampled thus far.
Thanks.

Correction: The Bolillo’s Mexican bread review has some critical elements. We missed it the first time. Apologize and wanted to correct ourselves.
PS: We are publishing a piece in Fresh & Easy Buzz on your review site.
Could you please varify for us that freshandeasyreview.com is an independent site rather than affiliated with Tesco’s Fresh & Easy neighborhood Market. We request no names or personal information. Just that it is independent of Fresh & Easy. Or if it is part of Fresh & Easy, just a confirmation of that.
Once we publish the piece, our readers will be asking that question. Therefore we want to have an answer either way for them. Thank you!
Can email us at: freshneasybuzz@yahoo.com

Best Regards.

In our piece yesterday, we mentioned Fresh & Easy Buzz readers would be asking -- both here on the comments page and via or email address -- if Fresh and Easy Review was a product of Tesco Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market.
Fred has made a comment in that regard here.
We've also received two emails today commenting/asking the same question.
Thus far we haven't received a reply to our question from the publisher(s) of Fresh and Easy Review.
We will keep our readers posted if and when we do receive such a reply to our question.
Thank You.
Fresh & Easy Review responded to our question. Plese see the piece just published on it at this link:
