Tesco to Open Third Bakersfield, California Fresh & Easy Store On February 25

Tesco's Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is preparing to open its third combination grocery and fresh foods market in Bakersfield, in California's south Central Valley region, Fresh & Easy Buzz has learned.

The new and third Fresh & Easy store in the city, located in a shopping center at 5190 Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield, will open on February 25.

Bakersfield is Tesco Fresh & Easy's newest market region. It's also the farthest north in California that the grocer has come to date from its base in Southern California.

Tesco's Fresh & Easy opened its first two stores in Bakersfield (and in the south Central Valley region) on December 3, 2008. Those two stores are located at Panama Lane and Stine Road, and Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue. Thus far, Tesco plans to open nine of its small-format, combination grocery and fresh foods Fresh & Easy markets in the Bakersfield, California region, according to the company and to our reporting. Those locations are:

>Panama Lane and Stine Road
>Olive Drive and Jewetta Avenue
>California Ave. & Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield
>Buena Vista Rd. & White Lane, Bakersfield
>Coffee Rd. & Hageman Rd., Bakersfield
>H St. & Planz Rd., Bakersfield
>Brimhall Rd & Jewetta Ave, Bakersfield
>Cecil Ave. & High St., Delano
>Hwy 46 & Griffith Ave., Wasco

The top two Fresh & Easy store locations in the list above are the two stores that opened on December 3, 2008. The third location is the store opening on February 25. Delano and Wasco are cities located near Bakersfield.
