Tesco opened it latest Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market store yesterday morning in the Ventura Country (Southern California) city of Simi Valley.
The 10,000 square foot grocery market is Tesco's 40th Fresh & Easy unit to open to date in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada, and its first in Ventura County, although the grocer has numerous stores in other Southern California counties.
Fresh & Easy held its now familar grand-opening at the Simi Valley store, located at Tapo and Alamo streets in a busy shopping center in the city. Fresh & Easy executives, store management and associates joined by city officials, cut a ribbon at 10am Wednesday morning to officailly open the store. there was lots of free food and drink samples for the over 150 shoppers waiting to get a look inside the convenience-oriented grocery store, which is a combination basic neighborhood grocery market and fresh and specialty foods store.
Fresh & Easy plans to open as many as seven stores in Ventura County this year, and hopes to have at least 150 stores open and operating in California, Arizona and Nevada by the end of this year.
